An alarm fault, a damaged fire door or failed emergency lighting can affect occupants’ safety. Regular inspections and testing help identify problems so they can be addressed.
The visual property condition inspection also highlights maintenance concerns, helping you plan repairs and address deterioration early.
Serious breaches of fire safety law can lead to prosecution, unlimited fines and, in some cases, imprisonment. Authorities may also restrict or prohibit the use of unsafe premises. Read the government’s enforcement guidance.

Lower renewal prices
Both packages have renewal starting prices £95 below their corresponding first-year starting prices.
During the first year, we establish your property information, equipment records and initial fire risk assessment.
At renewal, we build on those records and review our existing assessment, reducing some of the initial work while retaining the agreed inspections and testing.
Grade D annual renewal: from £500.
Grade A annual renewal: from £700.
Reduced renewal pricing applies where we completed the original assessment and there have been no significant changes requiring a fresh assessment or additional work. We’ll discuss any changes affecting the scope before booking.
Your quotation confirms the areas inspected and the quantities of fire doors, appliances, alarms and emergency lights included.
The Grade A starting allowance covers one panel, 10 smoke or heat detectors, three manual call points and four separate sounders. Additional equipment and larger systems are priced individually.
Condition and damp inspections cover visible, accessible areas. Detailed surveys, structural assessments, EICRs, gas safety checks, commissioning, repairs and replacement equipment sit outside this package.
The package forms part of your ongoing safety arrangements. Routine user checks, necessary repairs and any additional inspections or servicing required by your property, risk assessment or licence conditions remain necessary.
